What can Bettis Financial really do for me?

As we begin to understand you and your financial goals, we help you prepare a monthly financial plan, alleviate behaviors that can lead to future hardships, and support you on your road to financial freedom and independence.

 

How do I get started working with Bettis Financial?

As a prospective client, you are encouraged to come in for an initial consultation at no cost to you. We discuss your financial situation as well as our company’s ability to help you. Most client engagements begin with a financial overview that addresses the multiple areas of your personal finances. If we decide to engage in the counseling process, it is at that point we discuss the best financial plan for you.

 

 

What is financial counseling?

Financial counseling is a service we offer to help individuals resolve issues related to credit, debt, budgeting, homeownership and other financial issues.  In a non-judgmental manner, the counselor reviews the client’s financial situation, helps them understand all options, and assists in problem solving.

What should I expect in the financial counseling process?

Our process begins with an initial meeting. We will review information you provide regarding your financial situation (check stubs, bank statements, credit reports, etc.) We want to know about your personal goals, concerns, dreams, and experiences. The financial counseling process entails discovering where you are now and where you want to go.  We work together to establish and prioritize your financial objectives. We will review the problems and opportunities facing you, examine alternatives and make recommendations and action steps. The last step is assisting you in implementing those recommendations. Once your initial plan is complete, we regularly meet with you to review and update your plan, assess your progress, and consider other actions that may be helpful for you.

What if I can’t come into the office for my meeting?

We offer both telephone and virtual (internet, email, and online) counseling.

What does Bettis Financial charge for its services?

Our services are provided at low or no cost to clients. We may waive some fees in cases of financial hardship. Fees are discussed during the financial planning meeting where we assess what is appropriate for each of our clients. We request counseling fees to help cover what it cost us to provide our customers with the best service, not to make a profit. Fees make it possible for us to remain in operation. We know that everyone’s financial journey is different and we have a variety of packages to fit any individual’s needs.

How do I apply for a financial hardship sponsorship?

If during our initial financial planning meeting it is determined that your financial situation qualifies you for a sponsorship, your fees may be waived due to financial hardships. Clients will be required to apply for the hardship program at no charge to client.

Once I have finished my financial counseling plan, will our relationship end?

That is entirely up to you.  We can provide assistance actually implementing your plan or simply provide services on an as needed basis as determined by you. We offer several different levels of ongoing service. Because financial counseling is a process, we offer ongoing services, periodic reviews or annual reviews and day-to-day consultation as requested or needed.
